Introduction

The Keep It Clean Partnership (KICP) launched a collaborative monitoring program in 2014 to gather water quality data across the Boulder and St. Vrain watersheds. Working with municipal partners at the Cities of Boulder, Lafayette, Louisville, Longmont, and the Town of Superior to compile monitoring data allows a comprehensive assessment of the overall health of the watersheds. This dataset supports the identification of trends over time and across locations throughout the watershed.

The monitoring program was developed by KICP to gain a better understanding of instream water quality conditions and to assist with the assessment of watershed management efforts.

This report highlights data collected during 2024 with a focus on the comparison to averages over the previous 5-years (2019-2023).

The KICP compiles and manages their extensive historical dataset in a centralized database. This database supports a new generation of online, interactive content to support more in-depth exploration of the data and bring clarity to annual and long-term trends.

Since 2023, this database has been leveraged to produce an annual Water Quality Report in an interactive, online platform, improving accessibility, convenience, engagement, and awareness.
